Overview

Within the realization of the IPA project MONET, third capacity building workshop for museum curators, was held in Campobasso, Molise, on 16th and 17th January this year.

Participants, who had the opportunity to talk about contemporary art, and how it is presented in the modern media, were museum curators from the cross border area, coming from cultural institution such as National museum of Montenegro, Centre for Contemporary Art, Maritime Museum of Montenegro, Pino Pascali Foundation. The workshop was organized by ARATRO – the University of Molise’s Archive of Electronic Arts and Laboratory for Contemporary Art.

Lectures were held by Nicolas Ballario, who deals with contemporary art applied to the media. He has collaborated with the most important artistic institutions and numerous newspapers and is currently the author and conductor of the contemporary art programs of Radio Uno Rai, curator of the art sector of Rolling Stone Magazine and head of the contemporary art sector of “Arthemisia”. In 2019 he joined the team of FABRICA, a research centre on modern communication, where he deals with editorial and cultural projects.

MONET project is funded under the first call of the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Italy-Albania-Montenegro. The main objective of the project is to create a network of museums and cultural sites and to promote natural and cultural heritage through the valorization of museums in terms of management, infrastructure and services. The Ministry of Culture of Montenegro is lead partner, while  project partners from Italy are the Pino Pascali Museum, ARATRO University of Molise and the Region of Puglia, and from Albania Ministry of Culture and the Marubi Photography Museum. The associated partner is the Municipality of Lecce.
